Our School

The Kearns Academy is open to Guilford County High School students living in the Southwest half of the county. Bus transportation is available to students living in the High Point Central, Andrews High School, and Ragsdale High School districts.  We encourage middle school students to apply, particularly those who are interested in Computer Science or Information Technology (IT) pathways.

Academic success is extremely important at Kearns. All classes offered are Honors and Advanced Placement level courses.  Students with grades in core classes of at least B may make good candidates for our school.

9th and 10th grade Academy students take high school courses on our campus and in the junior year, many students begin taking college courses at GTCC. Many of these courses are transferable to four-year colleges or universities within the UNC system. Our goal is for students to graduate in four years with a high school diploma, earn an industry certification in the Computer Science or IT pathways and obtain transferable college credit.
